What we do.
The Utah Drug Demand Reduction Outreach (DDRO) is a national guard program that provides a well-trained and adaptable team of Civil Operators to help community coalitions develop comprehensive strategies to address local problems. Prevention coalitions reinforce partnerships across community members, leaders, and local organizations. They also provide tools for substance use prevention and contribute to creating drug misuse-free communities. There are many roles a Civil Operator may take within a coalition including support, participation, coaching, leadership, and training.
Why we care.
Substance misuse does not discriminate. The damaging consequences of drug use can affect individuals, regardless of occupation, age, sex, class and race. DDRO provides leadership and resources to help Utah communities act on the knowledge that: Behavioral health is essential, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can recover from mental health and substance use disorders. We are passionate about understanding and protecting the communities in which we live and serve.
